In
the name of God amen, I Jacob Prillaman Sen. of the County of Franklin and State
of Virginia being sick and weak of Body but of sound Mind & memory thanks
be to God for his mercies Calling unto mind the mortality of my body & that
it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and
testament that is to say Principally & first of all I recommend my soul into
the hands of Almighty God, that gave it, and my body to the Earth to be buried
at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but I shall receive the same
again by the mighty Power of God. And as touching such worldly goods as it hath
pleased God to bless me I give and devise and dispose of the same in the following
manner and form Viz. First I desire that my just debts & funeral
Expenses be first paid out of my Estate & secondly I give unto my Wife Waltpurgelly
Prillaman after the payment of my debts aforesaid all and singular my personal
Estate household goods & furniture during her natural Life and to my son Jacob
Prillaman Ju. I give devise and bequeath all that part of the old tract of Land
on Daniels Run of black water Surveyed for Daniel Donahoo March 19th 1747 which
lieth above a new dividing Line running from two Chesnut oaks on a road S 35 West
xing said run to a double chesnut tree on the So. Side of sd. run also part of
a tract of one hundred and sixty acres on the Branches of sd. run running by a
new line from the Chesnut tree aforesd. So. 28 W 22 po to a Spanish oad So. 11
W 57 po to a white oak in the old line & with it N 14 W 56 po to a sorrel
wood N 23 E 62 po to a poplar on Daniels run in Sd. Donahoos line and with it
to the dividing line aforesd. also part of 204 acres adjoinging sd. Donahoos sd
Lines Beginning at Donahoos corner Beech on sd. run thence So 16 1/2 West 64 po
to a white oad thence new Line through the tract So. 64 # 28 to a W O So. 89 E
50 to a beech No 14 E to a poplar in the old Line and with it to the beginning
also part of a tract of land of 167 as. on the Waters of Black water and Pigg
river running by a dividing line along the dividing ridge between sd. Rivers Giving
to my sd. Son Jacob Prillaman Ju. all that part of said tract which lieth on the
Waters of Pigg river to have and hold unto by son Jacob & his heirs &
assigns forever on his paying thirty pounds good trade Equal to money two years
after my Decease to my daughter Anne Sowder also to my son John Prillaman I give
devise and bequeath all that part of Daniel Donahoos Survey and a survey of 160
acres which lieth on Daniels Run below my son Jacob Prillamans line aforesaid
also 50 acres adjoining sd. donahoos Lines which I hold by deed from Joseph Hale
to have and to hold the Sd. Lands to my sd. John Prillaman and to his heirs and
assignes for ever on his paying thirty Pounds good trade equal to money to my
Daughter Barbara Martin two years after my decease and also to furnish my sd.
wife with a good warm dwelling house also plenty of good Suitable Diet Clothing
washing and firewooe and all other necessary attendance During her natural Life
also to my son Daniel Prillaman I give & Devise and gequeath all that Part
of a tract of 204 acres of land on the Waters of Daniels run & Pigg river
which lieth above my Son Jacob Prillamans line on the branch were Sherwood Bybe
now Lives to have and to hold the said lands to him and his heirs & assigns
forever also to my daughter Barbara Martin I give devise & Bequeath all my
right title claim & Interest in & to a Certain tract of Land in Montgomery
County on the Branches of Little River Joining Nathan Sellers lines I also give
devise and bequeath to my daugter Anne Sowder & the Heirs of her Body all
the lands I hold up sd. Daniels run above Scoots lines which I have not gefore
bequeathed to be Enjoyed by her and her heirs aforesd. forever and at the decease
of my wife i desire that all my personal Estate may be Equally divided between
by sd. son Daniel Prillaman, Barnaba (sic) Martin and Anne Sowder and their Heirs
and I also appoint my two sons Jacob & Daniel Prillaman executors of this
my last Will & Testament Ratifying this and no other to be my last Will and
testament and utterly disallowing revoking & Disannulling all other wills
legacies, requests and Executors by me in any wise before named. In Witness July
one thousand seven hundred and ninety six. Published, Pronounced & Declared
by the said Jacob Prillaman Sen. to be his last Will and Testament in presence
of us Jacob Prillaman Sen. L. S. Wm. Mavity Henry Jones

Prillaman At a Court Held for Franklin Count in September 1796 the withing
Last Will & Testament of Jacob Prillaman was proved by the oaths of the Witnesses
thereto subscribed and the same was ordered to be recorded by the Court.
